OK so today’s post was not starting out this way.. but I sure am glad it ended up this way…
Mix It Up – Fruits and Veggies
Yeah, oddly enough I was not going to talk about nutrition, I was doing some research today on the link between obesity and cancer. Then in a sidebar I saw this ad and its link. It was dancing fruit it was cool… it caught my eye.
I clicked on the ad and got to a pretty cool sight. I think you will agree its pretty cool and provides lots of killer free simple ways to incorporate more fruits and veggies into your life. If you already have our “Done-For-You Fat Loss Meal Plans” or one of our Personalized Nutrition Programs, then you know we LOVE Fruits and Veggies.
Most people (including lay nutritionists) will avoid fruits like the plague for weight loss, but in reality they are very powerful fat loss tools when combined with the right foods in the right ratios and at the right times. Eating a fruit rich diet increases long term success of any program.
Performance athletes are cringing at these words right now. Especially the body builders since they run the opposite direction when they hear the word fruit. However when you use fruit to your advantage during a cutting or fat loss cycle, when it comes time to shred it up, it is easy and fast.

VARIETY
Eating a serving of fruits and veggies from each colour group is one way to add variety to your diet. Each colour group represents a different combination of nutrients. So, the more colours you can put on your plate, the better.
COLOURS
Fruits and vegetables can be divided into five colour groups:
[veggie color chart image: Red, Yellow/Orange, Green, Blue/Purple, White/Tan/Brown]
Try to include at least 1 serving from each colour group every day.
Try new fruits and veggies! Choose a variety of colours!
Keep a copy of the Colour Tracking Chart on the fridge, at work or in your grocery bag.
Write down what you eat and add up the number of colours each week.

We really need more of these types of resources out there. Today is a great day for fitness, fat loss and fight fans. Well really Saturday was, but I was without internet access all weekend.
GSP, UFC, Empowered and TACFIT!
I have to say it was a great day as my fellow Canadian Georges St. Pierre won his title defense against Dan Hardy from the UK.
Why is it a great day for Empowered Nutrition?

Hey, I want to have some fun with my friends over at TACFIT.
I need your help on this mission.
I have personally been pretty lax these days when it comes to actually training. Some of you know I am in the midst of re-writing my own fatness fitness program.

Well I am sure you have all been waiting on this…
Finally the Fat Loss Super Shakes Are Being Made!
I have to admit this was and is a daunting task. I am floored.. blown away at the amount of amazing Fat Loss Super Shakes and even some Lean Builder and a few Muscle and MASS building shakes and smoothie recipes that have poured in. OK so laughter may or may not MAKE you Lose Weight or even more desireable LOSE FAT, but it just might and if its that 0.3% difference to a successful transformation, then you have to at least try it.
Laughter is fun. Its contagious, its powerful, its effective, and its just better than crying.
There are millions of cells in you body. Think of them as soldiers. Now if I was going to war I would like to have 1 million positive minded and relatively happy soldiers going to war with me.
I mean the alternative is 1 million grumpy bummed out soldiers being forced to fight for your cause… hmm, lots of lost battles in history can be tied to this type of army. the victors aren’t always the best equipped but those that are positive in vision and ultimately outcome.
I want you to go into battle with a great vision (the ultimate you, ultimate transformation), a great leader (you) and a million happy little trigger happy fat annihilating soldiers (your cells).
