This is a great way to test yourself every month to see how your performance is ever increasing. It really validates if your weight loss is working by getting lighter and increasing your score or if your muscle building is working and your weight stays the same, even getting bigger and doing more reps each month.

Here’s the Deal

Challenge yourself to do 3 exercises for a total of 3 minutes each.  Rest between exercises, take a minute or take a day.  I suggest you try to do 1-3 minute rest and simply do as many reps as you can in 3 minutes.

CHALLENGE EXERCISES

Perform these three bodyweight based exercises in order (get it on video and get a night hotel stay):

  • Exercise #1 – Push Ups
  • Exercise #2 – Squats
  • Exercise #3 – Chin Ups

That’s it.  Do as many as you can in 3 minutes, then add your comment below and let me know how you did.  There is a small catch.  You will be critiqued for form.  Not too bad, but complete and utter foolishness and dangerous techniques will be commented on.  So stay strict and true to yourself.  “No limp spaghetti spine noodles…” as my old Master Corporal used to say on base in Petawawa.  What a great saying I can still hear it ring in my head… especially funny since he was a pretty skinny guy with a big voice, bigger attitude and a few stripes on his shoulders.
