It’s pretty busy out there. It’s that time of year where shopping has become a competitive combat sport.
Just the other day I took a few minutes out of my busy work day to go out shopping for some food and I literally got slammed by two opposing forces in mid argument.
Before I get into that I want to share with you a great pumpkin recipe that is low glycemic, high protein, rich with Omega fats and tastes great.
Come on in and read the rest of this new blog post as I share with you…
- A delicious recipe
- A combat ready exercise program
- A silly story
- A way for small business owners to get more time to do more things like get slammed while shopping in the middle of the week
Well then my friend you’ve got it it all here in this blog post >> www.empowerednutrition.com
Oh yeah… one more thing, if you are a small business owner, you need to be in great shape to handle and beat the competition. I have a game plan for you for nutrition, my buddy Craig Ballantyne has a plan to increase your fitness and my good friend Dave has a great solution to help your business run lean and clean, making business fun again.
DELICIOUS RECIPE FOR LEFT OVER PUMPKIN
Pumpkin Protein Smoothie
- 21-28 grams vanilla whey isolate
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin seed oil or flax oil
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1/2 cup pumpkin pie mix
- 3 ice cubes
Directions: Add everything to the blender, fire it up on high for 30-60 seconds and enjoy. WARNING this one is thick! But that is the whole idea, this is a filling low glycemic snack and shake in one. Add water to desired consistency.

OK so I was out doing some groceries with my two daughters. We went into the store and some guy was blocking the aisle talking on his cell phone and waiting for the sample lady to get set up. Literally he was blocking 2 aisles at the “T” junction. A lady pushed past him as I was coming along trying to guide my girls. The lady bumped the man (totally and accident), he pushed his cart, bumped her, then me as I protected my girls and I got slammed in the middle. They guy yells at the lady, she flips him the bird (YUP a 50+ year old lady pulled the middle finger) as she walked away from an ignorant 60+ year old grumpy greedy and slightly overweight man. He yells at her and I bounce off the big box of pumpkins.
Seriously I can’t make this stuff up!
Normally I would be pretty ticked off, but I was in a great mood, with my girls and a goal to be better and help others in life, I stopped the man as he yelled at the lady and told him he does not need to yell at her, he did not need to be so rude or push her as he was on the phone blocking the aisles and being a jerk. I quickly added that she too was rude and should have been much nicer. He snapped a few comments at me, but my daughters and I were already on our way.
As we came back, the lady at the sample stand came out, smiled and offered to give my girls some organic chocolate covered pomegranates and blueberries because they were so nice. The weird thing is that she was serving samples of organic teas, the candies were from the previous demo.
So morale of the story is this. If you are going to go shopping this holiday season get ready its a combat sport. Might I suggest starting with some bodyweight training like that of my good friend Craig Ballantyne and Turbulence Training.
Don’t think that because someone knocks you over into a pile of pumpkins it won’t result in a delicious new recipe to prepare you for next season of this competitive combat shopping and…
Be nice to everyone, help others because you never know who’s hiding some organic chocolates for you.
